“Our memories from our visit to Phú Quốc are rather bittersweet. The astonishing amount of new hotels and resorts made it clear that the island is expecting a huge influx of tourism in the coming years, and its beautiful coastline is hugely affected by one of Asia’s big issues: waste management and environmental education. Despite the enormous sadness we felt to see this, we visited one of the most exciting markets, where we saw a dog cut up to be sold as food for the first time. It was also here in Phú Quốc where we sold our motorbike to two great friends, Thatiana and Sergio.”
